Basella alba is an edible perennial plant in the family Basellaceae. It native to Indian Subcontinent, widely spread Asia and Africa, used as a leafy vegetable.Worldwide number of people with diabetes increasing every year. Due several risk factors inherent disease, treatment type II complicated. Many plants hypoglycaemic effects can be usedto develop drugs for mellitus. Decreasing postprandial hyperglycemia one aspectsof treating This possible by inhibiting certain carbohydrate hydrolysing enzymes like αamylase α-glucosidase. The objective present study was evaluate in-vitro antioxidant α-amylase inhibitory activity ethanolic extract alba. showed significant radical scavenging activities DPPH, ABTS, Super oxide, Nitric oxide Hydroxyl IC50 83.0 µg/mL, 87.5µg/mL, 91.0µg/mL, 96.5µg/mL 70.0µg/mL. also strong inhibition 77.8 mg/mL.
